With a 50-year business career spanning numerous travels across 48 states and six countries, I developed a deep passion for photography during my journeys. In 2011, a pivotal moment occurred when actress/model Jennifer O’Neill, a fellow equine enthusiast and SAG/AFTRA member, recognized my photographic talents displayed on my website at that time. Impressed by my work, she enlisted me as the photographer for a significant equine assist benefit event at her Hillenglade Farm in Nashville. My images went on to grace the pages of various magazines, even adorning the covers. Presently, I hold a position on the Board of Advisors for ‘Hope and Healing at Hillenglade’, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free equine-assisted sessions, retreats, and events to support Active Duty Military, Veterans, First Responders, and their families.
Alongside my business travels, I dedicated numerous years to capturing moments at hunter/jumper horse shows and IndyCar races nationwide. The dynamic challenges that are presented by such events to a photographer, demand capturing precise moments of incredible speed, elegance and horsepower in milliseconds. My photography predominantly centers on the outdoors, necessitating an adherence to pre-determined camera settings tailored for each outdoor setting. My philosophy highlights the importance of anticipating and seizing the optimal photographic opportunity without becoming bogged down by technical camera adjustments. For me, the ability to envision a successful image before its realization supersedes the need for an extravagant camera setup, emphasizing the essence of the photographer's vision in creating a compelling photograph.
